Does MetadataG store my files?
No. This is a privacy-first app. All metadata extraction happens directly in your browser. Your files never leave your device, ensuring complete privacy.
What file types and formats do you support?

Is there a limit to the file size I can process?
Since the app runs entirely in your browser and devices have different capabilities, we set the limit so you can process one file at a time, with a maximum size of 100 MB, ensuring smooth performance.

How do I find file metadata on my iPhone or Android?
The process is the same for all devices! Just open this website in your mobile browser (like Safari or Chrome), select your file, and let MetadataG extract the data.
Can I install MetadataG as a mobile or desktop app?
Yes! MetadataG is a Progressive Web App (PWA). This means you can install it directly from your browser to your device's home screen (on mobile/tablet) or as a standalone application (on desktop) for a faster, app-like experience. No app store download is required. Look for an "Install" or "Add to Home Screen" prompt in your browser, or find the option in your browser's menu.
Why is file processing slow sometimes?
To protect your privacy, MetadataG processes all files locally in your browser. We never send your files to a remote server to extract EXIF and file metadata. This means processing speed depends entirely on your device’s hardware and browser performance. For the fastest experience, we recommend using a modern browser on a PC or Laptop. Also note that larger files will take longer to process.
